Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Jul 01
Bright, saturated ruby. Precise aromas of black raspberry, gunflint and pepper. Dense but juicy and firm-edged, with intense, complex flavors of cassis, blackberry, pepper, espresso and licorice. Strong acids keep this shiraz bright and fresh, but the texture is also more pliant than that of the '97 release. Finishes with very good length and a nice touch of new oak.
